First 3 steps

This is how I work,

I did the last Christmas painting in Acrylic & have followed suit for the series. Acrylics are fun to use every once in a while, they are faster, but as you know I prefer oil.

Even when we sketch a painting out we truly can't get the feel of the prospective & composition until we add the color etc. That's why I have started working on all of the painting at one time rather than one individual part. It all works together to make the painting come together as a whole. I like to make necessary changes as I go.

more to come...

Step 1 is the canvas sketch. Step 1 is the canvas sketch.

As I was working on the painting & added the colors I realized that the Prespective was off on the pews. They were too tall & they were too close together so I went in & changed their size & position.

Step 2 is to start filling in colors and work on proportion Step 2 is to start filling in colors and work on proportion

I think I have it all together & realize that something has to change to make it work.

Step 3 is to continue refining colors and add the detail. Step 3 is to continue refining colors and add the detail.

I will fine detail the inside of the church & then at the last minute add my congregation.
